The Pet Pantry
The Pet Pantry is an established national company selling pet foods via a network of 77 franchisees located principally in the United States. The Pet Pantry has around 27,000 customers today, and operates an extensive telemarketing program in order to stay on a strong growth path. Each franchisee is responsible for ordering pet food in full truck-sized bulk orders from The Pet Pantry headquarters, and each franchisee then delivers the food to end consumers in Pet Pantry plastic bins on a regular basis. Each franchisee operates one or more delivery vans and manages a warehouse in their local service area. To help manage this company’s complex logistics, Miranet built an Information Technology Infrastructure that automated lead-generation, lead tracking, consumer ordering, franchisee ordering, and post-sales tracking and support. In addition, all the franchisee accounting functions are synchronized automatically with those of the franchisor to ensure timely reporting.

Miranet also developed a “National SQL Database” by synchronizing all of the data from each of the franchisee’s CRM Access database along with information from the Telemarketing Database and the franchisee’s Peachtree Accounting Databases. In addition, banner ads, such as those found on Yahoo and AOL, will supply sales lead information via pipe-delimitated files. The corporate office will also enter information, such as sales to each franchisee and various shipping information, into this national database as well as in the new Corporate Intranet. Miranet installed and configured Crystal Reports to generate a set of Management Reports covering Sales by Franchisee, Sales by Product, Sales by Product Line, etc.
