 Gearbox International
The Background:
Gearbox International is a recognized dealer and distributor of high performance motorcycle helmets for companies such as Suomy and Fog City visors. In all
they have three related motorcycle accessories businesses (www.gearboxinternational.com, www.modernworld.com
and www.suomy-usa.com) and they needed a powerful Internet based strategy to met the needs of their customers and dealers.
The Problem: Gearbox International approached us because they had a really cool site for the Gearbox site but it was hard to use
and could not include an effective e-commerce capability. In addition, it did not meet the needs of their dealer base who also needed information
and ordering capabilities that were different from the general public. The Modernworld site had not been updated in some time and the Suomy USA site had not been created, yet.
The Solution:
Our analysts and artists went to work on streamlining the user interface for Gearbox International to make the site easier to use while preserving the "coolness"
with a brand new design. Once the User Interface was completed, our programmers went to work creating a very sophisticated e-commerce capability that included:
- Dynamically displayed products with style and sizing options
- A log-in function so dealers had their own private area and got special dealer pricing in the shopping cart. End users
could also log-in so their billing information was preserved.
- A generous Administration area for processing orders, updating the product-line and product pricing.
The Payoff: All three sites have easy to use Product catalogs, an easy to navigate interface and a user friendly
Administration area. And, the e-commerce area provides for a rich shopping experience that hides the sophisticated technology used.
