of our long-time clients, offers workshops that help employees manage their stock options. This service is very popular, and FKN typically holds as many as 300 sessions per month. To avoid creating a large administrative staff, the company wanted to automate the workshop-registration process-and they approached us for help.

Working closely with FKN, we developed an Internet-based "Registrar's office," which allows users to register for the seminar online. The program's public area gives total control to the students, allowing them to review the course outlines, sign up for classes, change registration, or cancel participation right on the web site. The program also sends out reminders to those registered for classes and notifies people on Wait Lists when class openings occur.

A complete back office provides the tools to create new client company records and class information. The program also allows the user to easily add, change or delete companies/classes right in a browser window, so programming skills are not required. A contact management component tracks sales and forecasting activities. An email program facilitates the sending of promotional information to those who have attended classes before or have asked for further information.

The latest enhancement unifies the data files into a truly relational data base; expands the calendar function to announce classes and plan staffing; unifies the contact management with the customer profiles data; further automates scheduling of classes, confirmation of instructors, room assignments, sales commissions, instructor payrolls; and provides customer invoicing.
