ComUnity Lending
The Background: Construction and design firms, attorneys, and consulting
companies all spend huge sums on overnight shipments of plans and documents. By
creating a password-protected area on their web sites, we have enabled them to
upload and modify files, and notify recipients. Not only does this offer huge
savings in shipment expenses, but also provides a means of tracking who is reading
or uploading documents.
The Problem: As a community lending organization, this bank had three distinct uses for the web site. Bank customers, affiliated brokers, and bank employees all needed access to tools and information residing in the headquarters computer system.
The Solution: Our analysts studied the problem and created a portal site with access to each of the three web site visitors.
The Process: After interviewing bank personnel and managers, we created a visually attractive site that directed visitors to their section of the site. Each section has appropriate access so the public site is freely available. Capabilities specific to brokers and employees are protected by user ID's and passwords. Using a Windows based server and an MS SQL 2000, we were able to provide up to date financial information and tools for transferring data files which made collaboration from remote locations possible.
The Payoff: Bank representatives could now function as efficiently in the field as they could in the headquarters building. Costly trips back to the office were eliminated and remotely located representatives could be more effective.
We have implemented similar systems for law firms that have multiple offices, construction companies that use multiple vendors for large scales commercial building projects, and employment agencies that have contractors, applicants, and job orders from employers - all entered through the web site.
